It was only in 1952 that hydraulic rear brakes came in on the RMs - at which stage the torque tube was deleted - but by then the roadster was long gone. Produced between 1949-1952 the Atlantic was designed very futuristic looking car, and targeted to US market against domestic builds like Buick and Chevrolet. However, of only 7900 cars (both coupé and cabriolet!) ever produced roughly 320 examples were imported to US. Only 60 is believed to survive, with roughly half in roadworthy condition.
